Friday Faves

Rounding up a few of my favourite things this week

  • Summer Vacation!  Okay, so the kids drive me up the walls some days, with their bickering and their “I’m boooooored”, and their constant mess everywhere, but having them home, free from the scheduling is really great. This Facebook post by Bunmi Laditan is a great reminder that we don’t need to schedule summer.
  • Central air, because let’s be real, it’s freaking hot out there
  • Containment.  Seriously, Julie Plec has managed to do it yet again. Pulling us in, breaking our hearts and giving us a hell of a ride as she does it. I’m just sorry that the show is only one season long.
  • Speaking of Julie Plec and my fangirl side, Season eight of TVD has started filming! A few short months and the Salvatores will be on our screen again! -Order Season 7 of TVD on /
  •  This video that sums up how parenting can be (there’s some swearing, so watch when there aren’t little ears around)

What are some of your favourite things about this week?

Friday Five

I feel like I haven’t done a Friday Five in a while, and I’m due for one. So here’s five things I am all about lately!

  1.  Water bottles.   I am not actually a really big water drinker, and I should be. I decided I needed to fix that as part of my plan to get healthier. So I decided to buy a super cute water bottle to keep on my desk etc.  I found this adorable wonder woman bottle at our local walmart for a good price so I figured why not.  That lead to me buying another cute one (because you need more than one, right? One for the desk, and one in the fridge. So I headed to spencers in search of one and ended up with an Ariel one. Now I want to add Harley to my collection. I have no logical reason other than I want it.

  2. Play A Coke.   Have you seen these? They are the new ‘share a coke’  gimmick, like the find your name ones from last year. Each coke has a song playlist that you can listen to on spotify for free when you scan it with your app.

  3.  That 70’s show.  After watching The Ranch on netflix I remembered how much I actually liked the show and since it was also on Netflix I figured I would binge watch. I forgot how much it hurt when Donna & Eric broke up.

  4.  Torrid recently opened up in our city. I was super excited to check it out, and I’ve seriously fallen in love with it. Today I bought a dress. And my first pair of leggings.
  5. Speaking of  leggings. Seriously, these things are amazing.  I’ve been a die-hard jeans girl since as far back as I can remember. Today I entered the dark side… and it’s amazing. Leggings are SO comfortable. Like more so than anyone told me.  I don’t think I’ll be putting my jeans all away just yet, but there are definitely more leggings purchases in my future.

    What are you loving lately?

Friday Five

It’s Friday!

Time to do a round up of things I loved this week.

If you follow me on Instagram you may have noticed that I recently became a bit obsessed with snapchat. I know, I’m totally late to the game, but I thought snap chat was some teen thing. I made an account last summer, and never really used it. To be honest I didn’t ‘get’ it. So my sister in law finally showed me some things and now I’m really having fun with it, even though I don’t usually like taking selfies. My kids enjoy it too, especially the filters.

If you’re on Snapchat feel free to add me

Kid President

I know it’s an old video, but I only just found it, and it is worth sharing.

Bunmi Laditan

Bunmi is the creator of Honest Toddler and Toddlers are A-holes (find them both on Amazon *link for reference, I’m not getting paid if you click) I love her facebook page. It’s full of real, imperfect, raw parenting posts. Last night’s post really hit home. I also have anxiety so I can totally relate, though I think most of us can relate to just needing a moment to ourselves where we can eat our soup or drink our tea or whatever. Yesterday was a rough day for me too, so reading about someone else going through it made me feel not so alone in my struggle. If you are looking for a new page to follow on Facebook I suggest you check out hers.

Game Of Silence

Game Of Silence is a story about a group of childhood friends who end up in a detention center for nine months. They’re brought together after a tragedy 25 years later and try to right the wrongs of the past which also may lead them on a path to revenge.

Honestly, I wasn’t sure if I’d like this show when I first saw the trailer, but I was hooked watching the pilot. The second episode just solidified it. I can’t wait to dive more into the story!

Just Like Fire

I woke up to a an email from Pink’s newsletter today with the news that she released a new song! I kind of adore her, so of course I rushed to listen to it, and just like almost all her other songs, it’s amazing!
