Holiday Gift Guide

I know you don’t want to hear the C word, but I have to drop it in this entry.

Every year at this time I say “next year I’m going to start early” then the next year comes and I don’t. I can’t be the only one, right? This year I was a little ahead, but not by much. Typically I ask the kids to write out things they’d like for Christmas and then star or highlight their top few picks so that I know the one or two things they really want.  I thought I’d share some of the top things with you guys in case you’re stuck on what to get the kids in your life.

What They Want For Christmas

C (Boy/15) This year C has discovered Funko Pops, and he’s obsessed. He loves collecting things, so the funko figures are perfect. He also is in to Dorbz and Itty Bitties. And, of course, he’s still collecting pokemon stuff.

Mister (boy/12) Mister is really in to monopoly, this year he has asked for both the Ultimate Banking version and the Pokemon version. The other thing that tops his list is Lego Dimensions.

Blue (boy/10)  This year Blue has discovered Harry Potter, so of course he wanted the book set, the movies and basically everything HP.  He also discovered the Grossery Gang, which is basically shopkins but more gross. Another hit on Blue’s list this year is Skylanders Imaginators, the newest game in the Skylanders gaming series.

Lady Girl (girl/8)  Like many other girls her age, Shopkins and Littlest Pet Shop (LPS) are the top of Lady Girl’s list this year. The other thing that seems to be big among her friends and her are Journey Girl Dolls, which are the Toysrus brand of American Girl -type dolls.

Little MIss (girl/2)  Little Miss is 2.5, this year she is all about the babies, we thought these twin babies from JC Toys would be the perfect size for her. Other things on her list include Playdoh & Mr Potato Head

                          Parents Have Wishlists Too!

We all know that Christmas is for the kids, but it’s okay for us parents to have wishlists too.
This year on my list was a Swearing Colouring Book and new colouring tools. I also just discovered this new card game that is like Cards Against Humanity (which is on my Husband’s wishlist) but with a parenting twist. It’s called Kinderperfect & I need it!

What’s on your children’s wishlists?
What’s on yours?

  1. Oh I love the adult colouring book! And I saw the Grossery Gang this Sunday when I braved Toys ‘R Us to complete the kiddy Christmas shopping. Now I know the target demographic! That last bit also answers your question re: if you are the only one who leaves it late. Nope! Sunday was the day I started, and pretty much finished, Christmas shopping! Happy Holidays and hope everyone loves what they find under the tree in your house 🙂

    1. I fell into the adult colouring craze last Christmas, the swearing one is right up my alley!

I’m so glad I’m not the only one! The silver lining is when my kids change their mind mid – December on what they’d like from Santa it’s no big deal because I likely haven’t bought it yet LOL
