I feel like I haven’t done a Friday Five in a while, and I’m due for one. So here’s five things I am all about lately!
Water bottles.I am not actually a really big water drinker, and I should be. I decided I needed to fix that as part of my plan to get healthier. So I decided to buy a super cute water bottle to keep on my desk etc. I found this adorable wonder woman bottle at our local walmart for a good price so I figured why not. That lead to me buying another cute one (because you need more than one, right? One for the desk, and one in the fridge. So I headed to spencers in search of one and ended up with an Ariel one. Now I want to add Harley to my collection. I have no logical reason other than I want it.
Play A Coke. Have you seen these? They are the new ‘share a coke’ gimmick, like the find your name ones from last year. Each coke has a song playlist that you can listen to on spotify for free when you scan it with your app.
That 70’s show. After watching The Ranch on netflix I remembered how much I actually liked the show and since it was also on Netflix I figured I would binge watch. I forgot how much it hurt when Donna & Eric broke up.
Torrid recently opened up in our city. I was super excited to check it out, and I’ve seriously fallen in love with it. Today I bought a dress. And my first pair of leggings.
Speaking of leggings. Seriously, these things are amazing. I’ve been a die-hard jeans girl since as far back as I can remember. Today I entered the dark side… and it’s amazing. Leggings are SO comfortable. Like more so than anyone told me. I don’t think I’ll be putting my jeans all away just yet, but there are definitely more leggings purchases in my future.
It’s no secret I really like breakfast for dinner.
French toast is my first choice, almost always, but my kids really love pancakes.
I love to switch it up so they aren’t plain. This recipe sounds simple yet tasty.
I would top it with slices of apples or maybe get really creative and add apple pie filling.
2 cups whole wheat flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2 cups fat-free milk
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 medium apple – peeled, cored, and chopped
Prep:25 m Ready In: 25 m
In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. Combine the eggs, milk, honey and oil; stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. Add apple.
Pour batter by 1/3 cupfuls onto a hot nonstick skillet coated with nonstick cooking spray. Turn when bubbles form on top; cook until second side is golden brown.
Do you like breakfast for dinner? What’s your favourite go to?
How do you spruce things up so they aren’t boring?
I was nominated for a libster award by Christy Marie. Christy has a lifestyle blog and is fairly new to the blogging world. Drop by and say hello, I’m sure she’ll appreciate it!
11 Random things about me:
I love butterflies. I think they’re beautiful and unique.
I have two tattoos, a nursing pinup mom on my left shoulder blade, and three butterflies on my right calf, each in a different colour which represents the birthstone of a person; my grandfather, my grandmother & my mother. (Sort of like this, but with three butterflies instead of two)
I was raised by my grandparents.
I lived in the city but we spent all the time we could in the country. I’m homesick for it sometimes.
I love research and information. It’s both a blessing & a curse.
I’m really tall. I stand 6 ft 2 barefoot.
Hubby and I have been together since just before I turned 19.
I have never driven a car and don’t have my license.
I’m a weirdo who likes pineapple on my pizza.
I don’t really drink coffee. I like iced coffee and pop (soda) though. [I’m trying to cut back on caffeine though]
Root cover up is a temporary coverup spray to help cover up roots or grey hair between colouring. It comes in six different colours and takes seconds to start working. It is temporary and washes off in one washing. I choose the dark brown cover up and found it really matched my hair well.
