It is spring again. The earth is like a child that knows poems by heart.

Welcome to spring in my part of the world.
One day your kids are running around in shorts and tees, the next day they need their snow gear.  The days leading up to spring were glorious. 17C (or 63F) in early march, only to be down to -7C (19F) the day before spring. What cruelty is that?
To make it worse, the day after spring we were actually hit with snow again (instagram pic in link)

I love spring for many of the same reasons I love autumn, but in the opposite way.

Reasons I love Spring:

The newness!

Spring is nature’s way of saying, ‘Let’s party!'”Robin Williams

Everything is so alive and new when spring finally happens.  The blooming flowers, the baby animals. It’s like the world is waking up for the first time, and it’s amazing to witness.

“Spring is when life’s alive in everything.” [Christina G. Rossetti]

The sounds

Shamrock Shakes from MacDonald’s.

Ok this one might be cheating because it comes out just before spring officially starts, and it’s only a limited time thing, but it’s a yummy way to get your spring started.

Apparently you can make a pretty close to real version at home (via Popsugar)

No matter when in the season Easter is, it’s always been one of the great symbols of spring in my home. Of course the chocolate and Easter bunny traditions are nice, but growing up Christian meant that Easter played an even more important role in my childhood. Easter has always been a time to reflect on my faith.

and finally…..

Spring brings with it my birthday. And who doesn’t love their birthday?

Today’s theme comes from Mama Kat

The Prompts:

1. Write a list of your 10 favorite snacks growing up.
2. Open a blank blog post and “right click paste” in the body of the post…what was pasted? Explain it.
3. Write about the last thing your spouse cooked for dinner.
4. Write a blog post inspired by the word: green.
5. Write about something your child said that made you smile.
6. March 20th is the first day of Spring! Let it inspire a blog post.

  1. I can’t believe you’re getting hit with a fresh pile of snow!! Things are warming up here in the PNW if you want to come for a visit while your land melts. 😉
